Ais is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, MA. There, she studied Theatre and Exercise and Sports Studies, but her main focus was rugby. She turned in her major declaration forms as a technicality, since rugby was not on the accepted majors list. She also minored in a cappella, her group being the infamous Vibes. After graduation she went on to travel the world, first living in the greatest city in the world, New York City, it's only downfall being that it supports one of the most heinously jerky teams in the world, the Yankees, then on to South Korea where her love for Asian culture just bloomed, and then back close to home in Western Mass. She started working at a spa, where she learned how to calm her mind and be in a state of near nirvana. She joined the Springfield Rifles Rugby team, and met the love of her life, Brutus, a dashing young 8 man, when he tried to out flip her during a flip cup tournament. Although his ego might have been a tad sore after that night, their love blossomed like a ripe artichoke, and they currently live together in Springfield where they cook dinners, rent movies, and do each others laundry. She has been planning to hike the AT since she and Liz were undersized humans, and the day has finally come. She has been formulating the details of this trek for a year now, and has almost everything in order. And although this will be a formidable and demanding six months, Ais is one of the most stubborn people in the world, and will not back down from this daunting expedition. She would like to thank everyone who contributed gear, money, love, and endless support, especially her mother, Carlton, and her sister, Erin. She would not have been able to do any of this without them. And in the words of her mother, whom she quotes constantly, "The only thing to fear, is fear itself."
